SYNCHRONIZATION
 
TO
 
THE
 
TRANSMISSION
 
GRID 
4.3.3.1. Devices for synchronization of generator to transmission grid must be provided for 
the following plant conditions:
- start of the generation unit in normal operation; 
- synchronization after the generator tripping of the transmission grid to the self-
consumption taking into consideration the concept of self-consumption ; 
- connection to the system of busbars without supply aimed at activation of those 
busbars (only for hydropower plants). 
4.3.3.2. Synchronization of generation units must be provided for all frequencies for 49 - 51 
Hz range and for all voltage levels in the transmission grid within the normal operational 
range. 
4.3.3.3. Generating unit must be able to perform synchronization if the above requirements 
are met: 
- Frequency difference 

f is less than 0.1 Hz; 
- Voltage difference 

U is less than 10% of nominal voltage; 
- Angle difference 

is less than 10


EXCHANGE 
4.3.4.1. Generation units must have real-time data exchange capability. 
4.3.4.2. Generation units must have real-time data supply capability in order to provide the 
following to the JSC EMS technical control system: 
- Connection status of the switchgear in the power plant at the voltage levels of 
interest for transmission grid control; 
- Voltages on the primary and secondary side of the step-up transformers; 
- Active and reactive power of the generation unit (on the generator and on the 
high-voltage side of the step-up transformer).
