Overriding (adj) – more important than anything else
Example: The government’s overriding concern is to reduce inflation

Striking (adj) – very unusual or easily noticed, and therefore attracting a lot of 
attention (B2)
Example: She bears a striking resemblance to her mother

Pejorative (adj) – disapproving or suggesting that something is not good or is of 
no importance 
Example: Make sure students realize that “fat” is a pejorative word

Cherish (v) – to love, protect and care for someone or something that is important 
to you
Example: Although I cherish my children, I do allow them their independence

Prominently (adv) – describes something that is in a position in which it is easily
