Thinking is a product of a person’s mind, and it is one of the factors that have the greatest impact on his living, working and lifestyle. Today, in the system of training military personnel, it is becoming an extremely important vital necessity to include the actual quality of «survivability» in the knowledge, skills and qualifications of personnel. In the further activities of military personnel, it is very important in the process of training to form such skills as operational, creative, quick-witted thinking, so as not to lose the activity of units until they destroy the enemy, and to increase viability. Despite the fact that many scientific researches and researches have been carried out in the fields of pedagogy and psychology in the field of thinking, it can be said that the level of work and scientific researches carried out on the formation of divergent thinking skills in military personnel is extremely low. The term «divergent thinking» was introduced to science by the American psychologist Joy Gilford, and the scientist found that the development of 5 types of thinking abilities is directly related to divergent thinking (Chart 1): E. P. Torrens defines divergent thinking as a type of thinking that contributes to the search for unusual ideas aimed at developing interest in research and non-standard forms of research. [6:87] Divergent thinking is the ability to think in different directions, that is, the ability to analyze an object from different angles in the system of many connections with other objects, their properties and relationships. A distinctive feature of the final mental product obtained with the help of divergent thinking is the variety of answers [7]. Divergent thinking (from the Latin divergere - separation) is a creative way of thinking, which is usually used to solve problems and tasks. It involves finding many solutions to the same problem. Divergent thinking was studied by E. P. Torrens, D. Gilford, K. Taylor, G. Grubber, I. Hein, A. B. Schneider, D. Rogers. Divergent thinking is a unique form of creative thinking, which has been scientifically researched by many scientists, and the emergence and formation of this thinking ability in a person has given different conclusions at different ages. In this regard, there are several views on the development of creativity or divergent thinking in ontogeny. According to one, it is said that divergent and creative thinking continuously increases with age, while other conclusions suggest that divergent thinking reaches its peak at the age of 6, decreases by the age of 11, and at the same time changes its Chart 1. 5 types of thinking abilities that form the basis of divergent thinking |
