The roleof teachers in English teaching
Some students mentioned that learning English is the function of the teachers’characteristics,so that ifstudents love their teachers and use his motivation and creativity, they will be moreinterestedin English. Although thisisanaccepted scientificprinciple and is truefor allsubjects,butwe must accept that this is more prominent in practical lessons. When the students love their teachers, they will be moreinterestedin learning. Soinsomeschools, the lack of motivated and creative teachers and the lack of access to equipment and limitedcontents of incomplete course books minimized the students’ performance. However, certain problems of teachers such as economic problems and so on are also effective in this issue and some fundamentaland lastingmeasures mustbeconsideredinthis regard. But teachers also have the right, because at the end of the semester the exams contain questions from the course content not the contents that students like. Therefore theclasses seem a bit boring and non-functional that this issuewill have an adverse influence on teaching and learning English. In fact it is not the fault of teachers. The valueof this course is unknown and the society has not felt a need to this course. Some experts believe that teachers teach many things, and do not teach somethings and it’s so true, because due to the interestrates and different incentives the limited time will be fewer and fewer and flaws and shortcomings will be exacerbated. To mention about the infrastructural facilities, the following are the mainachievements: -Computerbased classroom teaching, -Internet facility in each classroom, offices etc -Modernlanguage labs, -Expansionof computer labs, -Computersinstallation for the students, -Provisionof an e-learning supervisor to look after the developmentetc. Regarding the online material related to English curriculum, the entire material was put on the website. The focus was on the learning/assessment activities such as CYU (Check YourUnderstanding), Crossword puzzle, power points etc. problems of Teaching/Learning English and Management 1-Easyand load free, 2- Interesting, 3-Openaccess: any time-anywhere, 4-Varied information, 5- Self-learning mode, 6-Selfmotivating. [5; 58] The idea of incorporating e-learning in the classrooms in general and English classrooms in particular was basically derived from the following hypotheses: 1-E-learning is very important in the learning in general and learning of English in particular, 2-The available e- resource is compatible and up to date, 3-The EMES as a tool is very useful, 4-There is a need to evolve learning strategies in general, Factors of problems for the teachers -Differencesin the alphabet and the script: -Wordstructure, -How words are written. -Punctuation, -Verbsand sentences, -Noun cases. -Preposition, -Conjunction, -Positionof adjectives, -Useof subject, -Tense; indefinite and continuous, Pronunciation neglected, -stress and intonation, -Useof article, Use of has/have, -There is/there are “beginning”, -The case of verb “be”, -Verbplacement, -Confusionon number, -Transliteration Socio-cultural factors: -relaxing personality, -Nopressure from the society or family, -Educationis not thought of income source, -Lessopportunity to practice English outside classroom, -Homeenvironment for homework or self study, Why dolearners face problems? Apart from the academic reasons mentioned above related to the teachers, the learners also face problems due the following socio-cultural and psycholinguistic reasons: -Thedifference between the past and present style, -Techniqueof teaching, -Workload, -Morefocus on EFL, and focused teaching, -Hardwork, -lack of proper motivation and attitude etc Download 52.08 Kb.
