INTRODUCTION
Today, one of the main requirements for higher professional skills is a perfect knowledge of foreign languages. It is no coincidence that special attention is paid to the study of English, which is one of the leading languages of international communication. Teaching English in the education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan is rising to a new level of quality on the basis of a scientific approach, the introduction of new information and communication and pedagogical technologies that can fully meet the requirements of the time.
The President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev Sh. mentioned in the Decree on Additional Measures to Improve the Quality of Education in Higher Educational Institutions and to Ensure their Active Participation in the Large-Scale Reforms. Lessons must be conducted by means of advanced teaching technologies and interactive methods intended to form innovation-oriented way of thinking of students, paying attention to the mechanisms of independent learning.
“Another issue that will never lose its relevance and importance for us is the task of educating our children as independent-minded, modern knowledge and professionals, strong-willed, truly patriotic people,” said President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev [1, 2].
Relevance of the issue. Comparative literature is an academic field dealing with the study of literature and cultural expression across linguistic, national, geographic, and disciplinary boundaries. There are a great number of crucial as well as renowned works which are analyzed comparatively. In this paper “Hamlet” by Shakespeare and “Moby Dick” by Melville are studied in a comparison way. Hamlet and Ahab are tragedy heroes of two great writers—Shakespeare and Melville. Revenge is the most important clue in each play. This paper depicts the greatness of them through the comparison between the two heroes of the two revengeful tragedies in several aspects, such as their characters, the differences and similarities of their revenge, fighting against society and nature, achievements, social morality, and so on.
