Business mentors


A business mentor is someone who will assist you with starting and running your Business. A mentor will have more entrepreneurial business experience than you. This person becomes your trusted confidante helping you to manage the ups and downs of your business.
Business Mentors usually work for free, and they may assist for several months, or remain at your side for several years.
People become Business Mentors to give something back to their local community. They can also choose to become Mentors to develop their teaching and managing skills.
A good mentorship relationship works in both directions. Your mentor will learn new ideas and strategies from you, and you will benefit from their significant experience.
Steve Jobs from Apple mentored Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook. Bill Gates from Microsoft is grateful to Warren Buffet for his mentoring and business advice.

Business Angel


Not everyone believes that Angels are messengers from God. But everyone thinks of Angels as good, helpful and kind.
A Business Angel (or Investor Angel) is someone who invests their money in the initial phase of a Start-up business, in exchange for a share in capital. They also act as mentors and share their knowledge and experience with entrepreneurs.
Angel investors like to believe in the company's founder, not just the potential success of the business model. They look for enthusiasm, commitment, integrity, and a cooperative mindset. A typical investment is between $15,000 and $250,000. In return, they ask for a 20-40% stake in the new company.
Angel investors are sometimes friends or family members but they are usually experienced venture capitalists or entrepreneurs. Christian Vollmann is a well-known angel investor in Germany. He was named Business angel of the year in 2017.

Pitch Deck


To “pitch an idea” is to suggest it, to propose something new. A Pitch Deck is the presentation that you use to pitch your ideas to investors, customers and partners. A start-up looking to raise capital needs a powerful Pitch deck. Equally, a successful business that wants to expand will use a Pitch Deck as a sales tool.
A good Pitch Deck should be short, direct, and easy to understand. Airbnb created a Pitch Deck with just 10 perfectly designed slides. It helped them to get finance for a business that is now worth $385 billion.
Pitch Decks are not always Slide presentations. Dropbox created a demonstration video to pitch their idea for easy online storage. They are worth $12 billion today.
For sales, it is recommended to limit a Pitch Deck presentation to 6 slides, 20 minutes and to focus more on the customer benefits than the product features.
