The aim of my course paper. Aldridge continued to draw inspiration from current events, and Cold War tensions between East and West made him the subject of his next novel A Captive in the Land (1962), set in in the icy Arctic desert, where a British scientist saves the lone survivor of a crashed Russian plane. Like all of his politically-themed works, Aldridge attempted to explore all points of view and portray the "gray" zone between opposing forces and beliefs.

The subject of my course paper. Since the mid-1960s, much of Aldridge's work has been written for children and young adults and some of his later works are set in his native Australia. His 1966 novel My Brother Tom is set in the fictional Australian town of St Helen, based on the Murray River town of Swan Hill, where he spent most of his childhood. This novel, the first in a series of six books set in Saint Helena, is a novel that describes the love story between two young people, exploring ideas and dilemmas about morality and politics. governance, in this case serious tensions between the Catholic and Protestant citizens of the city. The novel became a television miniseries in 1986, starring Gordon Jackson and Keith Michell. Another book in the St Helen series, The True Story of Lilli Stubeck, is the 1995 Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year. His 1973 children's novel A Sporting Proposition was adapted into the 1975 Disney film Ride a Wild Pony.
The course paper includes introduction, main part, conclusion and list of references.
The main part includes historical happenings that he knows firsthand, and at the same time connect the story to the personal problems and struggles of the main characters in it. With his next book, The Anthology of Stories, escaped Hemingway's influence. What he gained from his apprenticeship is now integrated into his own method and vision. The stories show his ability to grasp situations in a variety of contexts and convincingly identify aspects of national character in condensed form.
