Problems of hotel business in Uzbekistan and possible solutions

2.2.
Labor shortage and retention of quality personnel - Labor shortage is one of the most serious problems facing the hospitality industry and restaurants. The restaurant industry employs about 14 million people in the United States alone. The shortage of personnel becomes a problem as the personnel reserve of suitable candidates decreases. Since the quality of hired employees directly affects brand reputation, revenue and overall labor costs, simply lowering standards is not an acceptable solution for experienced hotel owners. It is very important to get access to more talented professionals to be able to pick and choose the best options. Businesses in this sector also need to be willing to make changes to the way they operate in order to support workers to make every effort on an ongoing basis. Right now, the demographics of available candidates are shifting towards an older age. Boomers whose retirement plans have been postponed due to the recession are looking for permanent jobs even in physically demanding positions that they may not be able to perform, while younger workers are aggressively looking for jobs with a reputation for higher wages and better working conditions. Paying more and more attention to creating a great culture in the workplace, ensuring the competitiveness of wages and benefits, as well as improving working conditions to reduce the burden on employees, will ease the burden of the aging population of the service sector and help attract young talent. As an example of one way to improve benefits, even organizations with fewer than 50 employees can now offer health insurance, using the capabilities of group plans and combining them with additional insurance that helps fill in the gaps. Insurance brokers and consultants are creative (within the law), helping small businesses negotiate more profitable insurance for their employees. These candidates usually face significant barriers to employment due to income, veteran status, disability, or a history of incarceration. But they can bring a lot of motivation and dedication to work, especially with proper training. This pool of labor is always available, and businesses can get thousands of dollars' worth of tax breaks for hiring suitable individuals. One of the biggest problems faced by the hospitality industry is the lack of a high-quality workforce of different skill levels. The hotel industry has not been able to retain good specialists. Retaining the workforce through training and advanced training in the hotel business is a problem, and the attrition rate is too high. One of the reasons for this is the unattractive salary package. Despite the boom in services, most hotel management graduates are joining other sectors such as retail and aviation[ CITATION Bha12 \l 1033 ].
