6. “Would” questions
1. Would you like to change your name?
Answer: No I don’t want to change my name. In fact, I think I’m really fond of my name because it has
quite a deep and significant meaning. As well as this, my parents chose this name for me and they don’t
want me to change it. So I am sure I will never change my name.

Always remember:
When the question begins with would, the examiner expects you to give a
hypothetical answer by using a second conditional.
If +Past simple, S+ would/could/might+ verb.
For example: If
I changed my name, I would not feel comfortable to hear people calling me with my new
name.
NOW try to use second conditional structure for these questions:
1 Would you like to change your job?
2 Would you like to live near the sea?
3 Would you like to be in a film?
4 Would you like to live in a foreign country?
5 What would you like to change about your city?
