22. Zeughausführung

Im Zeughaus des Vereins „Die Förderer“ erzählen mehr als 2000

Kostüme, Rüstungen, Waffen, Wägen und Zaumzeug von Kaiser

und  Fürsten,  Braut  und  Bräutigam,  Edeldamen  und  Kindern,

Reisigen  und  Mägden,  Spielleuten,  Rittern  und  Knappen  von

Landshuts  prächtiger  Hochzeit,  dem  größten  Fest  des  aus -

gehenden Mittelalters. Lassen Sie sich inspirieren!

21. Sculpture Museum

The Sculpture Museum is built into the hill called Hofberg, un-

derneath  the  English  scenic  park  on  the  edge  of  the  Gothic

town centre. The plain rooms, built in 1998, stand in attractive

contrast to the medieval city wall which provides the facade of

the museum. The endowment of Fritz and Maria Koenig forms

the museum’s permanent collection. Fritz Koenig, born in 1924,

is  numbered  among  the  most 

significant protagonists of contem-

porary sculpture. The collection in-

cludes  Koenig‘s  famous  collection

of African art and cultural objects. 

The  changing  exhibitions  are  ac-

companied by a varied programme

of events.

22. Tour through the Arsenal

“Die Förderer”, the society responsible for the organisation of

the  “Landshuter  Hochzeit”  pageant,  opens  the  doors  of  its

store  house:  more  than  2000  costumes,  armour,  weaponry,

coaches and harnesses, for the emperor, the bride and groom,

aristocrats, children, pages and maids, minstrels, knights and

squires. All  these  objects  tell  of  Landshut’s  magnificent  wed-

ding: the most spectacular celebration of the late Middle Ages.

23. Weihnachtsspaziergang

Romantische  Gefühle  stehen  in  der  Vorweihnachtszeit  hoch  im

Kurs. Verbinden Sie Ihren Stadtspaziergang mit dem Krippenweg,

bewundern Sie die Vielfalt der Krippen aus aller Herren Länder in

der Hauptausstellung in der Dominikanerkirche St. Blasius. Stärken

Sie sich danach mit einer Bratwurst und wärmen Sie Ihre Hände

an einem Glas Glühwein auf dem Landshuter Christkindlmarkt in

der Freyung. Wenn dann die Dunkelheit hereinbricht und vielleicht

ein  paar  Schneeflocken  vom  Himmel  fallen,  verwandelt  sich  der

wunderschöne Platz mit der Kirche St. Jodok, den Bürgerhäusern

und dem Blick zur Burg Trausnitz zum Weihnachtswunderland Ihrer

Kindheit. Stimmen Sie sich ein auf die schönste und besinnlichste

24. Führung durch die 

Krippen-Hauptausstellung

In der Dominikanerkirche St. Blasius am Regierungsplatz

(Nähe Christkindlmarkt)

Die Krippenausstellung in der Dominikanerkirche am Regierungs-

platz  in  Landshut  zeigt  einen  Querschnitt  der  Krippenkunst  des

18., 19., 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts. Die Darstellungen des „Myste-

rium der Geburt Christi“ werden in den verschiedensten Materialien

wie Holz, Elfenbein, Trangant und Terrakotta usw. gezeigt.

25. Burg Trausnitz

Die  oberhalb  Landshut  gelegene  und  schon  von  weitem 

sichtbare Burg wird erst seit dem 16. Jh. „Trausnitz“ genannt. Bis

dahin  führte  sie  den  gleichen  Namen  wie  die  Stadt  selbst. 

Demnach  sollte  die  Burg  dem  Land  „Behütung“  und  Schutz 

gewähren.  Sie  sind  interessiert  an  Burgführungen  oder  dortigen

sonstigen Veranstaltungen?

23. Christmas walking tour

Romantic feelings come alive at Christmas season. Combine your

individual  walk  through  Landshut  with  the  nativity  scenes-trail.

You can admire a variety of nativity scenes from all over the world.

The main exhibition takes place at the Dominican church St. Bla-

sius. As a well deserved treat afterwards enjoy some tasty fried

sausages and warm your cold hands on a hot mug of mulled wine

on  Landshut`s  Christmas  market  at  „Freyung“. As  dusk  sets  in,

snow flakes might fall onto this impressively romantic square with

the church St. Jodok and beautiful houses all around it. The view

up to the castle Burg Trausnitz makes this day a winter fairytale

of your childhood. Get into the Christmas mood, the nicest and

most leisurely time of the year.

24. Nativity Trail

In the Dominican Church of St Blasius, Regierungsplatz

(close to the Christmas market)

The  exhibition  of  nativity  scenes  in  the  Dominican  Church  of 

St  Blasius  on  the  Regierungsplatz  shows  models  from  the  18th,

19th  and  20th  centuries. The  representations  of  the  “mystery  of

the birth of Christ” are shown in varied materials such as wood,

ivory, terracotta or tragacanth.

• Opening times: Mo - Fr 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., Sa and holiday 11 a.m. - 

6 p.m., Su 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., closed 24th and 31st December

25. Castle “Burg Trausnitz”

The  castle  looks  down  over  the  town  and  can  be  seen  from  far

away. It has been called “Burg Trausnitz” since the 16th century.

From the 13th to 16th century it bore the same name as the town

itself, “Landshut”, meaning it was the protector of the land, gran-

ting security to its inhabitants and their territory. If you are inte-

rested  in  visiting  the  castle  or  in  the  diverse  events  which  take

place there…

Der Verkehrsverein ist für Sie nur als Vermittler tätig. Der Vertrag zur Durchführung

der gebuchten Leistung wird zwischen Ihnen und den Stadtführern geschlossen. Ma-

ximal wird eine Gruppe bis zu höchstens 25 Personen von einem Stadtführer betreut.

Für 1 - 3 mehr Personen wird ein Aufschlag von 3,– EUR pro Person verlangt. Bei wei-

teren Teilnehmern  muss  eine Teilung  der  Gruppe  erfolgen  und  es  werden  je  nach

Gruppengröße  zwei  oder  mehr  Gästeführer  eingesetzt.  Besichtigungen  der 

St. Martinskirche, des Residenzinnenhofes und des Rathausprunksaales können nur

auf Vorbehalt  gewährleistet  werden.  Es  besteht  hier  kein  Ersatzanspruch.  Die  Be-

zahlung erfolgt in der Regel bar an den zuständigen Stadtführer direkt vor Ort oder

nach vorheriger Vereinbarung per Rechnung. Zeitverzögerungen Ihrerseits zum Füh-

rungstermin  werden  bis  zu  30  Minuten  nach  dem  vereinbarten Termin  akzeptiert.

Bei späterem Erscheinen kann die Führung nicht mehr aufrecht erhalten werden und

es fallen 100 % Stornogebühren an, die Ihnen vom gebuchten Stadtführer in Rech-

nung gestellt werden. Bei einer Absage ab 3 Werktagen vor Führungstermin fallen

General terms and conditions for visitor service/guided tours/film showings

The tourist office operates solely in the role of an agent. The contract for the booked

tour is concluded between you and the tour guide. A guided tour consists of a ma-

ximum of 25 participants. If the group exceeds 25 people, 2 or more tour guides

will be appointed. For 1-3 extra participants an additional charge of 3.00 EUR per

person will be payable. Payment is usually made immediately on completion of the

tour in cash to the responsible tour guide. Visits to St Martin’s Church, the inner

courtyard of the Ducal Palace and the Ceremony Hall in the Town Hall cannot be

guaranteed. There is no entitlement to compensation. Payment by invoice is only

possible if previously arranged. Delays to the start of the tour for which you are re-

sponsible will be accepted for up to 30 minutes. If the delay exceeds 30 minutes,

the tour will be cancelled and a fee of 100 % will be due. The appointed tour guide

will invoice you for the agreed sum. In the case of cancellation with fewer than 3

working days’ notice, the tour guide is also entitled to charge you 100 % of the fee.
