Day 18 - Introducing Eye Fixation
“They should have told you in school how to read groups of words.”
SUMMARY
1. The fastest
readers read groups of words, not individual words.
2. Divide the book page into 4 fixation areas by adding 3 dots on top of the
page.
3. Pace only on those 3 points using your peripheral vision while reading.
CALCULATE YOUR READING SPEED
If you want, you can measure your reading speed today.
1. Count the number of lines you just read.
2. Divide this number by 2.
________ lines / 2 = ________ are my lines per minute.
3. Multiply your lines per minute with the average
words per line of your
book.
________ lines per minute X ________ words per line = ________
is my
words per minute base rate (W.P.M.).
4. Add this number to your W.P.M. tracker.
REMINDER
Start your daily reading with brain yoga and the Infinity technique. You can also
juggle
for some minutes, if you like.
Read for 10 minutes using the eye fixation technique. You can also combine this
with a 4-3-2-1 Speed Drill. Donʼt for get to use your left hand for any pacing.
For
full engagement, also rite and relate for 3 minutes each.
