Examples of narrative text

• “Early one morning, Sarah decided to go for a jog in the park. As she jogged, the sun began to rise, casting a golden glow over the trees. Later that day, she met her friends for lunch and shared her morning adventure with them.”
• “The brave knight entered the dark, mysterious forest, ready to face any challenges that lay ahead.”

Subdivisions of narrative text

• Descriptive narrative connects imagery, ideas, and details to convey a sense of time and place
• Viewpoint narrative presents events or scenes to us so that we see understand them through narrators’ feelings, desires, beliefs or values
• Historical narrative recounts events in the past. Genres such as biography, autobiography and various historical subgenres
• Linear narrative is narration where you tell events in the order they happened, i.e. in sequence. 
• Non-linear type of narrative include narration that does not follow events in the order they happened.

Descriptive 

A descriptive type of text aims at describing and revealing something. Descriptive writing is vivid, colorful, and detailed. There are 5 types of descriptive types of text: describing process, describing an event, describing personality, describing object and describing place

Example of descriptive text

My mother is a beautiful person. She is not tall butnot short, and she has curly hair and brown. Hereyes color are like honey and her color skin colorlight brown, and she has a beautiful smile. Herweight likes 120 lbs.She is a very kind person. She is very lovely,friendly, patient, and she loves to help people. I lovemy mom, because she is a good example to me.She loves being in the Church, and she loves singand dance too.
