"Education is our future, a matter of life and death. Therefore, we have no right to delay reforms in this area. No matter how difficult it is, we must lay a solid foundation in school education today. We lost time. If anyone thinks that school is just the job of the Ministry of Public Education, they are absolutely wrong. Reforms in the field of school education must and must be the task of ministries and departments, network leaders, governors at all levels, scientific organizations, intellectuals, the general public. Only then can the expected results be achieved the head of state said at the beginning of the meeting. "We have announced our new Five-Year Development Strategy. We have made great strides in increasing GDP and exports, rapidly developing industry and information technology, and reducing poverty. Who will accomplish these tasks? occupied, competitive youth. In general, the reform of 10,130 schools across the country is closely linked with the future of more than 6 million students, more than 500,000 teachers, in general, all segments of our society, every family. Therefore, we need a quality education system, schools that meet modern requirements and have all the conditions, have qualified teachers, school principals with managerial and leadership skills." The fourth priority in the development strategy, 5 goals of the 100 goals for human dignity "and 18 tasks in it are directly related to education," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev 1 . Writing is a way of sharing information, thoughts, ideas and experiences to others in the written form. Through writing, EFL learners can inform others, explore the ideas, carry out transactions and tell what they fell. In line with this view, states that writing is the mental work of inventing ideas, thinking about how to express them, and organizing them into statements and paragraphs that will be clear to a reader. Further, writing is also a basic skill, just as important as speaking, listening, and reading. Students need to 1 Mirziyoev Sh.M. Tanqidiy tahlil, qat'iy tartib-intizom va shaxsiy javobgarlik har bir rahbar faoliyatining kundalik qoidasi bolishi kerak. -T.: Ozbekiston 2017 know how to write letters, how to put written reports together, how to reply to advertisements and increasingly, how to write using electronic media. They need to know some of writing's special convention: punctuation, paragraph construction, etc. Thus, writing skills will help EFL learners to increase their language and reasoning skill as well. EFL learners also can expand their knowledge of the language components in a real use effectively. It is supported by that writing, as with the other skills of listening, speaking and reading, it is useful to make sure that learners are involved in meaning- focused use, language-focused learning, and fluency development. So, writing skill gives a wider opportunity for EFL learners to develop both their academic achievement and future career. The learners should develop their writing ability to increase their academic achievement and future career through more practice. The ability to write has become an essential skill for attaining employment in many walks of life. The ability to write effectively is becoming increasingly important in global community, and instruction in writing is thus assuming an increasing role in both second and foreign language education. Generally speaking, in teaching language classroom teacher should develop four language skills involving the learner's ability to write. It means that they have to master writing proficiency including aspects of writing: content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanic. If they good in writing skill, many benefit can be reached, they are: first, writing is a good way to increase their ability in using vocabulary and grammar. Second, it can improve their ability in using language. Next, it can support another language skills likes speaking and reading. If their writing is good, they can speak and read fluently and effectively. Then, they can build writing habit making learners feel comfortable as writers in English and so gaining their willing participation in more creative or extended activities. The last, writing is a way to gain modern information technology as well as broaden their knowledge. In fact, most of EFL learners face many problems in learning writing skill, they are: EFL learners feel difficult to develop and organize the ideas well, they are lack of vocabulary, they get difficulties in grammar structures including mechanics of writing, they are not attracted in writing's topics, they do not have opportunities for being corrected and for consulting to the teacher because of limited time in the classroom, they are not enough materials, and they feel boring and less motivation to write. In addition, states that the difficulty in writing lies not only generating and organizing ideas, but also in translating these ideas into readable text. Those difficulties make the students not to be confident in writing. Moreover, cited that the problems faced by EFL teachers in writing instructions are: the first, dealing with the teaching of the less proficient students. They tend to use ineffective writing strategies and teachers struggle to help students how to write. Next, dealing with students' negative attitude on writing. They are unmotivated as well as lack of confidence in themselves as writers. The last is dealing with the effectiveness of teachers' response on their writing product. The students have limited time to consult, get comment and feedback from their teacher. Regarding with the writing cases, the teacher should use appropriate model, so the learners can write easily and motivated to write well. Various new models of teaching writing can be applied by the teacher. One of them is flipped classroom and it is very appropriate in teaching writing. Flipped classroom is teaching strategy that lets teachers to more actively engage with learners in the classroom. In the flipped classroom, teachers can ask the learners watch recorded video given by teacher as homework, and use class time for active learning exercises and direct engagement with learners. Further, states that flipped classroom is using technology to deliver asynchronous direct instruction with the intention of freeing up class time for student-centered learning. The goal of flipped learning is to provide a student-centered learning environment. It gives teachers the ability to practice project-based learning, mastery, inquiry, peer instruction, constructivism, and more. It should be noted that within the framework of the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education" 1 and the National Program of Personnel Training, a comprehensive system of teaching foreign languages, that is, a harmoniously developed, a system was created aimed at forming a smart, modern- thinking young generation and further integration of the republic into the world community. During the years of independence, more than 51,700 foreign language teachers were trained, multimedia textbooks on English, German and French for grades 5-9 of general education schools, electronic resources for learning English in primary grades was prepared, more than 5 thousand language classrooms were equipped in general education schools, vocational colleges and academic lyceums. At the same time, the analysis of the current system of organizing foreign language learning shows that educational standards, curricula and textbooks are fully in line with the requirements of the times, in particular, the use of advanced information and media technologies is not responding. Education is conducted mainly in traditional ways. Nowadays, we know that the role of games is too important to A2 level learners. Speaking is one of the basic language skills that have to be mastered by English foreign learners due to its significant and its use for communication. It is very important to be able to speak English regarding that it is the most commonly accepted language in the world so that it will be very beneficial for those who comprehend it not only to improve their knowledge and skills but also easier for them to get a job. 2 More than that, they will not find it difficult to communicate and interact with people around the world when they travel. However, in several Asian countries in which English is taught as a foreign language such as South Korea, Japan, Thailand and some other countryside in the Middle East, learners behavior in classroom situation seems not working that it is hoped as it stated in The East Asian Learner Journal that learners in Asia are often afraid of making mistakes and being ridiculed in front of their classmates. Besides that, they may also respond in short phrases because they may not feel confident or because they are too shy to speak it out. In addition, young learners of English may also giggle when they are embarrassed or when they are unable to understand the lesson. The researcher has found that there are many similarities and difficulties faced by the students in speaking English such as fear of making mistakes, fear of being laughed by their friend as they have no idea about pronunciation and grammar that they use. Besides, they are also not confident enough to express their idea and feeling hesitant due to the lack of vocabulary that they have. 1 https://lex.uz/docs/-5431845 Then, they are also bored in learning English because the teaching-learning activities provided in a conventional way, for instance; the teacher asked the students to perform the text they have memorized. Furthermore, they also cannot speak based on their willingness because what they want to speak is structured by the teacher, in other words they just repeat the word that has been produced. Afterward, those problems make students get lazy or less ability to speak. Those cases are quite problematic considering that even though speaking is not included in final test, in daily teaching and elt.ccsenet.org English Language Teaching learning activities it is involved in the scoring and become teachers concern and consideration in determining whether or not the students pass the subject. Therefore, the researcher considers that it is very necessary to find out an alternative way to create suitable and interesting technique related to the students condition. Therefore, teachers have to try to motivate students to speak by using games combined with communicative approach so that hopefully it can create a good circumstance, encourage students to take part actively and improve the quality of students communicative competence. Based on the descriptions, a research is carried out to analyze and to prove whether communicative games can improve students speaking skills. In this case, the seventh grade students are chosen as the subject of the study because they are considered as the lower level in speaking skill than the other classes based on the interview toward the English teachers. Here, the researcher tries to propose a strategy in teaching English especially teaching speaking namely Communicative Game 2 Based on the introduction and the objectives, it is assumed that Communicative games can improve students English Speaking skills. Communicative game is a set of well fun-design activities can stimulate students interaction in the classroom. These games require them to take part actively in classroom by speaking and writing in order to express their own point of view or give information. More than that, students confidence will be automatically formed due to its concept in building habits of interaction. 1 Game means an activity with rules, a goal and an element of fun In addition, game is an activity in which the learners play and usually interact with others. They added that in order to express their own point of view or give information, the learners must speak or write as in getting the meaning from others, they have to understand what people are saying or have written. Communicative Games can be an alternative way to overcome students difficulties in learning how to speak English. |
