The bar chart below shows the percentage of Uzbek men and women in different age groups who read books in 2010.
The bar chart illustrates how many females and males read books in Uzbekistan in 2010, according to their age group. Overall, it is clear that males tended to read books more than females, while women were dominant only in the 16 to 24 age group.
In the youngest age group, females outnumbered males, with about 62% of the 16 to 24-year-olds reading books compared to 55% of males. However, this was a peak age range for women as numbers declined from this number on, reaching their lowest point at 45 to 54 years, roughly 45%, While men in this age group were active with about 60%. Additionally, males were dominant compared to females, at the stage from 25 to 44, with about 58% and 52%, respectively.
In contrast, females tended to be less active in the group aged 55 to 64, with just under50%, while women in this age group were nearly two times as higher as men, with just under80%. The 65 + age group also witnessed the same trend, with just under60% for males and 50% for females.
