Group:204 Student: Bozorova Ozoda Plan: Introduction - The USA is situated in the central part of the North American Continent.
- It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east, by the Pacific Ocean in the west and by the Gulf of Mexico in the south.
Climate - Most of the territory is marked by sharp differences between winter and summer. Average winter temperature is about 25 degrees below zero in Alaska and up to 20 degrees above zero in Florida. Average summer temperature varies from 14 degrees above zero in the western part and up to 32 degrees above zero in the southeast.
- The largest amount of rainfall is noted in Alaska and the southwest of the country.
- In winter the northern part of the USA usually has a steady snow cover.
Climate of the USA in winter and in summer Vegetation - In the East the principal trees are spruce, poplar, birch and fir. The Northern Appalachians and the upper Great Lakes region are dominated by mixed forests of birch, beech, maple, hemlock, and pine. Much of southern Florida and the lower Mississippi River valley are covered by marsh grasses. In the Western mountains on the lower slopes are open woodlands. The warm-winter desert areas of Southwest support much cactus. The Pacific Northwest has dense coniferous forests with fir, hemlock, and spruce among the principal trees. Northwestern California has dense stands of giant redwoods (sequoias) along the coast.

Wildlife - Every American state has its own animals – there are official state amphibians, birds, mammals, insect, reptiles... North Carolina has a state carnivorous plant. Wisconsin has a state bacterium. There’s maybe no better indication of the immense pride that many Americans take in their country’s diverse wildlife, and there sure is a lot of it to go around.
