2. Whiteboard and markers.
3. Chart paper and markers.
4. Books on national clothes.
5. Dress up clothes (optional).
Introduction:
The teacher will start the lesson by asking the students if they have ever seen people wearing different types of clothes from around the world, and if they know what these types of clothes are called. The teacher will then explain that these are called national clothes, and that they are unique to different countries.
Body:
1. Definition of National Clothes: The teacher will explain what national clothes are, giving examples from around the world such as the kimono from Japan, the sari from India, or the kilt from Scotland.

2. Different Types of National Clothes: The teacher will show pictures of different types of national clothes from around the world and ask students to identify them by name and country.

3. Significance of National Clothes: The teacher will explain why people wear different types of national clothing in different cultures, such as showing respect for tradition, expressing pride in one's heritage, or celebrating a special occasion.
4. Role Play: If time permits and materials are available, the students can dress up in traditional outfits and act out a scene that takes place in a particular country where that clothing is worn. The teacher will summarize what was learned during the lesson by asking students to recall examples of national clothing they saw and their significance in their respective cultures.
Assessment:
To assess student understanding, after class discussion is complete ask each student to write down two things they learned about national clothing from the lesson. Alternatively, students can draw a picture of a national outfit from a country they learned about and write a short paragraph explaining its significance.
Extension:
Students can research more about national clothes from different countries and create a poster or presentation to share with the class. They can also make their own national clothing by using art materials or dress-up clothes.
