Homework Task Fifteen

Please explain in one page how the Homework Task One lesson fits into the syllabus of the course, the curriculum, and the national standards.

The lesson for the Homework Task One was developed according to the topic and text type included in the course syllabus. The type syllabus designed for teaching the Reading and Writing course in the curriculum is of a skills-based approach. Skills-based approaches are organized around the four macro skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. A focus on using the skills in context so learners can cope with authentic language is the basis for proficiency-oriented instruction. Based on this tactic this prospectus is aimed at developing the Integrated Skills of students and adjustment of different types of integrated materials. Together with listening students also develop their speaking, writing as well as reading skills.

The lesson clearly fits the curriculum which aims at EFL teacher research. The Reading and Writing is one of the courses that come from the language strand of the PreSETT curriculum. This curriculum includes 2 strands. They are Language and Language teaching methodology. The language strand has more hours of teaching in Year 1 and 2, while in Year 3 and 4 the teaching hours for language strand decreases giving more time for teaching methodology strand that is delivered in English.

The lesson derived from the course syllabus for Reading and Writing II and comes from curriculum matches the content of teaching and learning foreign language for level C1 of Higher Education, Specialist Language Undergraduate Programs in Uzbekistan. The curriculum sets the aim of reaching C1 level of CEFR by the end of Year 4. Reading and Writing is taught in the first and second year, and its content clearly matches the linguistic competence. Reading and Writing for all 2 Years students work with lengthy, complex topics likely to be encountered in social, professional or academic life, TV report and TV programs, radio programs, Speaking podcasts.
