Nevertheless, those collocations’ plurality is expressed in a lexical way. In Uzbek we can see the same examples: bir dasta gul, bir to’da hayvonlar, bir hovuch tuproq. There are also words which show singularity of some things with additional words: a pair of, a sack of, a piece of. The major proper of the Uzbek plurality is seen in using a syntactical way for its expression, that is not in English at all. This form of plurality in Uzbek can be expressed with the combination of noun and a pair of adjectives: dasta-dasta gul, baland-baland tog’lar, shoda-shoda marvarid. This type of plurality is made only through the relation between the quantifiers and the noun. Thus, the English and Uzbek languages have variety of forms of plurality, but there are specific morphological and semantic features which can be found out through comparison and contrast. Discussion The comparative-contrastive analysis shows that in both language (English vs Uzbek) the means of expressing of plural form of the names are doing with morphological ways. In English the most productive way is adding the morpheme -s, but in Uzbek language are suffixes. Concerning the lexical way of expressing plurality we revealed that it is used in a wider range in Uzbek than English. It was found also that in Uzbek language we meet the syntactic way of expressing plurality, because of agglutinative type of the Uzbek language. Besides, some nouns forms are related to singularity (but not all time) in the aspect of content (meaning) of a set of items. Using means of expressing plural forms are not identical in the English and Uzbek languages. Structural elements of quantity words combinations in the compared languages are different. At the same time the compared languages have universal elements in collective nouns, which means a set of things/objects (crew, family - in English and oila, jamiyat, jamoa, xalq- in Uzbek). At the same time the Uzbek language is specified with using the singular form in collected meaning. In the Uzbek language abstract nouns in the plural form receives the concrete meaning, having its lexical meaning. Nouns in its semantics have content nuance of collection. Some nouns denoted things in the plural form change their meaning, breaking the relationship between semantic correlated forms of singular and plurality. Therefore, the structural forms of quantity expressing are different from their content especially. Conclusion Results of investigation show that morphological, semantic and syntactic properties of nouns’ and verbs plurality in each language have its own peculiarities from position of functions carrying out. So, the comparative-contrast studies are conducted for linguodidactic aims. According to the findings of this study we can |
