INTRODUCTION
Actuality of the theme. English literature is one of the important component parts of the world literature. Its representations contributed to the literature with their works. The theme of qualification paper deals with literary activity of well-known English sonneteer W. Shakespeare and his sonnets. Shakespeare sonnets are very effective tool in learning the history of English literature and also foreign language. Besides it plays an important role in educating of young generation. The actuality of the qualification work lies in the study of famous Renaissance poet’s literary heritage, his sonnets and his contribution to the English especially world literature. Shakespeare’s sonnets are the monument of a remarkable genious but they are also the monuments of remarkable age. Shakespeare’s sonnets are intensely personal and are records of his hopes and fears, love and friendships, infatuations and disillusions that in turn acquare a universal quality through their intensity. Since these early beginnings, Shakespeare’s sonnets have held a significant place in literature for both its unique form and presentation of content.
Investigation of the problem. The problem was investigated by many literary critics. English scholars Stephen Booth, Lars Engle, A.S. Bradley and others, German scholars George Gottfried Gervinus, Russian scholars Samuel Marshak, Boris Pasternak, A. Stepanov, Uzbek scholars Jamol Kamol, A’zam
Obidov, Yusuf Shomansur and others.
The aim and tasks of the qualification paper. The aim of the work is to present the overview of Shakespeare’s sonnets. The following tasks have been settled so that to achieve this aim:
-To show William Shakespeare’s as a great poet, his poetic world
-To investigate the ties between the author’s own life and relationships of his life to the sonnets
-To study literary activity of a famous English sonneteer and playwright W. Shakespeare, analyses his sonnets. To achieve this aim some sonnets of the poet are studied.
The object of the qualification paper is Shakespearean Sonnets.
The subject matter of the work is different approaches about Shakespeare’s life and his creative activity.
