gradual study of the history of irrigation in
Khorezm and large-scale research to clarify a
number of issues related to the history of the
development and development of Khorezm,
one of the ancient cultural centers of Central
Asia, the ancient culture and socio-economic
relations of its people.
Thus, the period of the former Soviet Union
(1917-1991) went down in the history of
archeology as the years of official business
trips of many archaeological expeditions in
Uzbekistan, which set themselves tasks of
various topics and scientific goals. The services
of Russian archaeologists were excellent.
Over the years of independence, the Republic
of Uzbekistan and many developed countries
of the world have signed agreements on joint
archaeological research. Joint research with
Russian archaeologists is of particular
importance. In 1994, an agreement was signed
between the Institute of Archeology of the
Academy of Sciences of the Republic of
Uzbekistan and the Institute for the History of
Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences
(St. Petersburg) on the study of Paleolithic
cultural monuments in Akhangaran. At the
same time, both sides undertook to preserve
the monuments, process them, and provide
scientific information about the findings.
From
1994
to
1995,
Uzbek-Russian
archaeologists conducted another study at a
Paleolithic site in the village of Kolbulak near
Angren. This place was first studied by
O.M.Rostovtsov, then M.R.Kasimov (1962-
1985). Stone Age workshops were discovered
in it, where it was discovered that stone was
mined and tools were made. This expedition
led by the Russian archaeologist N.K.
Anisyutkina (1994-1995) during excavations
studied tools of the Early Paleolithic - such tools
as chisels, pins, knives. It is proven that the
local people hunted wild animals, horses, bulls,
saigas and deer.
In 1998, an agreement was reached between
the Uzbek Institute of Archeology and the
Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute
of Ethnography to conduct joint research in the
Obi-Rakhmat cave near Tashkent. The joint
expedition was headed by Academician of the
RFA of Uzbekistan U.I. Islamov and RFA
academician A.P. Derevianko [11].
As a result of joint research carried out in 2007-
2011, many cultural layers dating back to the
Early Paleolithic, Middle and Late Paleolithic
eras were discovered and studied. At the same
time, the tools of labor were improved and the
culture of the Mesolithic period was formed.
During the expeditions of Russian and Uzbek
historians to Angren in 2011-2015, they
discovered and studied such monuments as
Dodektam-2 and Kyzylolma[12]. The main task
of archaeologists was to study and analyze the
Early Paleolithic period and rethink the Middle
Paleolithic period at Kolbulak[13].
A joint study conducted by Uzbek and Russian
archaeologists in 2010-2015 showed that
primitive people did not completely leave their
habitats, used natural cave and semi-basement
forms for life, and that ancient people left this
place and returned several times[14].
