ROLES IN COOPERATIVE LEARNING GROUPS
Assigning complementary roles to group members promotes and enhances positive
interdependence and individual accountability. Each group member has a clearly defined
responsibility needed for the group to reach its goal. The selection of roles varies with the
intent and content of the activity. Role assignment should rotate frequently within the group.
Remember, each quarter you get a 100-point individual group grade that is based on the
fulfillment of your assigned role and contributions to your group. Fill all roles!
