DIDACTIC GAMES IN GERMAN LESSONS

Abstract 
 
This article discusses didactic games as an example of German lessons that will 
help make them productive. 
 
Key words: didactic games, German language, methods of teaching, the role of teacher. 
At present time, the problem of increasing the effectiveness of teaching the Ger-
man language is of particular importance. This problem is caused by a low level of cog-
nitive activity and unwillingness to acquire new knowledge in the field of German. 
Therefore, at present, German teachers use non-traditional teaching methods 
and means in their practice. Among them, a huge place is occupied by the organization 
of the game activities of students. 
Among the many educational games, methodologists distinguish didactic games, 
since they are one of the productive ways of involving the child in the cognitive process. 
Their inclusion in the lesson allows you to solve many cognitive tasks. Didactic games 
mean active, purposeful activities of students to activate the vocabulary, its enrichment 
and use in speech. 
The pedagogical processing of didactic games, the selection and promotion of 
game forms as educational tools were dealt with by V.I. Dahl, P.F. Lesgaft, P.I. Bokin, and 
others. 
Didactic games in learning the German language are of great importance for the 
personality of the student. 
• Participation of students in didactic games contributes to their self-affirmation. 
• They develop their perseverance, desire for success. 
• In games, thinking is improved, general intellectual skills and abilities are de-
veloped. 
• Games make contact in class easier. 
• They contribute to cooperative work. 
• They contribute to the development of empathy, that is, the ability to assume 
the role of another. 
• They reduce fear and difficulty. 
• Through a role-playing game prepare the student for reality. 
• Games help reduce conflict situations. 
• In the game, children with pleasure and interest do what they perceive in ordi-
nary activities as something difficult, overwhelming and uninteresting. 
Games are of great importance for the development of skills in the German lan-
guage, namely: 
• Develop communication skills. 
• Can be used to develop all four skills (reading, speaking, listening, writing). 
Didactic games have the following meaning for the lesson: 
• The language is not studied for the distant future, but for direct application in 
various relationships. 
• The teacher is freed from the need to constantly correct mistakes. 
• The roles and functions of the teacher and students are changing. 
In groups where children have different abilities, games perform a compensatory 
function and produce differentiated work, as weak students can also play and exercise 
the rules in the game, but are not required to show maximum results. 
When using didactic games in lessons, it is very important to determine the level 
of difficulty of the game: too simple, as well as excessive, didactic games will not bring 
a positive result. Difficult, overwhelming assignments discourage student interest, turn
