This article considers the Internet as one of the most effective ways to learn and teach 
English with multiple online platforms. 
 
Key words: communication resources, Internet, educational environment, interactive 
learning, modern pedagogical technologies, learning English, English language tech-
nique. 
The stage in modern education that we are experiencing, on the one hand, is 
characterized by the widespread use of various information technologies and Internet 
capabilities, and on the other hand, by the focus of the English teaching methodology 
on the development of students' communication skills. 
In this regard, one of the urgent problems of the modern methodology of teach-
ing English is the problem of the effective use of the communicative capabilities of the 
Internet in the educational space. 
So, in recent years there has been a tendency to increase the effectiveness of ed-
ucation through the introduction of new information technologies, the widespread use 
of Internet resources. Targeted programs aimed at developing a unified educational in-
formation environment have been created that provide information support for educa-
tional, research and management processes at all levels of education. 
Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the communicative ca-
pabilities of the Internet and their quality use in teaching English. 
Among the research methods, we should single out a literature analysis on the 
research problem, an empirical study of the communicative resources of the Internet, 
and the study of the interactive environment MyEnglishLab developed by Pearson. 
The concept and classification of modern communication resources of the Inter-
net 
Recently, the question of the use of new information technologies in high school, 
including in the process of learning foreign languages, has been increasingly raised. 
The main purpose of teaching foreign languages is the formation and develop-
ment of a communicative culture of schoolchildren, which involves learning to com-
municate and building the ability to intercultural interaction, which is the basis for the 
functioning of the Internet. Outside of communication, the Internet does not make sense 
- it is an international multinational, cross-cultural society, whose life is based on elec-
tronic communication of millions of people around the world, speaking at the same time 
- the most gigantic in terms of size and number of participants conversation that has 
ever occurred. By joining it in a foreign language lesson, we are creating a model of real 
communication. 
The teacher’s task is to create the conditions for practical mastery of the lan-
guage for each student, to choose such teaching methods that would allow each student 
to show their activity, their creativity. 
As an information system, the Internet offers its users a variety of information 
and resources. A basic set of services may include: 
- email (e-mail); 
- teleconferences (usenet); 
- video conferencing; 
- the ability to publish your own information, create your own home page 
(homepage) and place it on a Web server; 
- access to information resources:

- online conversation (Telegram, Whatsapp, IMO). 
Mastering communicative and intercultural competence is impossible without 
the practice of communication, and the use of Internet resources in a foreign language 
lesson in this sense is simply irreplaceable: the virtual environment of the Internet al-
lows you to go beyond time and space, giving its users the opportunity to authentically 
communicate with real interlocutors on topics relevant to both sides . 
The Internet is an excellent tool for receiving information on the latest develop-
ments in the world. Thus, using the Internet, you can turn a classroom into a news 
agency, and your students into first-class reporters. This type of activity is suitable for 
high school, as it includes volume reading and the art of interpretation, fluent speech. 
Almost all major newspapers in the world have their own web pages. In order to 
find out where and what newspapers exist, students can be invited to visit the MEDIA 
LINKS page, which offers links to many publications. 
Undoubtedly, the Internet can be used as an effective application for the devel-
opment of grammar, lexical skills, and knowledge testing. This includes all kinds of 
training lexical, grammar, phonetic exercises, reading tests, grammar, IQ tests, etc. 
Teachers or students themselves can find such sites on the Internet. 
The role of professional educational resources in the formation of communica-
tion skills of students 
Despite the large number of various programs, services and other types of com-
munication resources of the Internet that contribute to the mastery of communication 
skills by students in the English language, in our opinion, the Internet is still insufficient, 
and sometimes even harmful, to form effective communication. There are several rea-
sons for this phenomenon: 
- the abundance of various kinds of resources on the Internet can only create the 
illusion of a student’s choice, especially if he is a teenager who, due to his age and lack 
of self-study experience, can simply get lost in the abundance of information, can take 
the false for reliable, or even run into the Internet scammers; 
- the quality of the material presented on the Internet, especially relating to the 
study of English, is very controversial, because, with the goal of studying spoken English 
in the traditional format, in the future having the opportunity to pass the exam in the 
"Speaking" section, the student may encounter simply substandard materials and re-
sources, under the guise of literary or colloquial English (American or British) that give 
out accents that are either not needed at this stage, or that are not really relevant Aosti 
and low quality educational resources.
