Objective: to energise the pupilsYou can use any energiser the pupils like.
Activity 5 Work in groups of 4/5. Play “Please”. 10 min
Objectives: to consolidate all the learnt words about schoolthings;
to develop pupils’ speaking skills;to consolidate polite answers to questions “Yes, hereyou are. / No, sorry.”
STEP 1: Play the DVD. Ask the pupils to watch the dialogueat first. Ask what they have noticed. Elicit some answers andthen summarise that the boy gave the pencil only when the girlused a very polite sentence with the word “please”, i.e. ‘Can Ihave a pencil, please?’.Play the DVD once more to make everybody understand thepoint. After that have the pupils repeat the question with orwithout “please”, and the answers as well.
