Spelling dictation
Ask the pupils to listen to you and write the letters and words.
Dictate: pen, book, plane, balloon, pencil, peach
You can check the dictation yourself or ask the pupils to checkthemselves or do it in pairs. The words are already written onPage 21 so you can ask them to compare. Say that if they havemany mistakes it means they must revise the letters and wordsand prepare for the next Spelling dictation.
Activity 5 Play “I like ...”
Objective: to consolidate the structure “I like …” and vocabularylearnt in Class 1
Stick cards in two rows on the blackboard face down: 1) a rowof toys; 2) a row of colours. Explain that a pupil can open onecard from the upper row (e.g. pens) and one card from the lowerrow (e.g. pink). Then s/he must make a sentence using thesewords and say: “I like pink pens.” You can also play the DVD toshow how to do this activity correctly.
Homework
Draw the pupils’ attention to Page 21 in their Workbooks.
Ask whether the homework is clear to them. If necessary, explain.Also say that they should continue writing letters on Page 20.
Draw the pupils’ attention to Homework Activity 2. Explainthat they should read the words and match them and the picturesby drawing lines between them.
