MOTIVATION LETTER

Because of the strong interests in computer science, I entered to the Master’s Degree on Computer Linguistics at Urgench State University.

Uzbek which is our native language is considered low resourced on NLP.
Natural language processing (NLP) refers to the branch of computer science—and more specifically, the branch of artificial intelligence or AI—concerned with giving computers the ability to understand text and spoken words in much the same way human beings can.
I intend to learn machine-learning algorithms in Uzbek. Machine learning algorithms and models applied to NLP Problems in Uzbek language to learn the rules for language analysis. My goal is to develop state-of-art algorithms and tools for the Uzbek language, which can solve the problems of the Uzbek language interaction with computer interaction.
Currently, I am creating bilingual corpus as part of my current scientific research for implementing in many NLP applications, where the sentence-alignment, the PoS tagging, and the size of corpora are influential such as statistical machine translation, language recognition, and bilingual dictionary generation.
I would like to improve my experience during this research program in Europe because Europe has great opportunities to research and practice. It is very important for me to learn different technologies and enhance my knowledge.
My aims are to participate in Summer@EPFL program:
 To enhance my knowledge in the subject of machine learning, particularly deep learning in theory and practice.

 Study the scientific works of the professors of the host university

 To learn the education system of European Universities because I want to add some new ideas to enrich my exist program.

 Knowledge and expertise gained from prominent scientists can be to sophisticate my scientific research and develop my existing projects constantly.

After my return, I plan to contribute to the betterment of the Uzbekistan by sharing the knowledge and experiences gained in Europe in practice. Specifically, improving and mastering educational system in Uzbekistan is main purpose of mine.
