The world`s longest water diversion tunnel was completed in northeast China`s Liaoning province. The previous record for the longest tunnel was held by Japan`s Seikan tunnel, which is 53.86 km long. The newly built tunnel is 85.3 kilometres long and has a diameter of eight meters. It starts in Hengen County in east Liaoning and ends in Xibin County in the western part of the province.
