What's new in recent Windows 10 updates Applies to: Windows 10 Check out these features that were added in recent Windows updates, including new features from the Windows 10 October 2018 Update . They'll help you get things done on your PC and across your other devices. You can manage your time, increase security, and get more creative with Windows 10. In the October 2018 update, use the Your Phone app to see the 25 most recent photos from your Android phone. Drag a photo from the Your Phone app to an email, an Office document, or another place. Right-click a photo to copy or share it. For more info, see Your Phone app help .
Send an Android text message from your PC Note
If you have a new Windows 10 device, open the Tips app for info about how to set up your new device. In the October 2018 update, use the Your Phone app to view and send Android text messages from your computer. No need to take your mobile phone out of your pocket. See Your Phone app help for info on how to create and send a text message on your PC. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone, type "Microsoft Launcher" in the search box, and then install it. Once Microsoft Launcher is installed, you can get beautiful Bing wallpapers that refresh daily, sync your Office docs and calendar, and more.

With Microsoft Launcher, you can use the search bar at the top of your Home screen to find files, apps, and web results on both your phone and PC. Get Microsoft Launcher in the Google Play Store app on your Android phone. In the October 2018 Update, use the cloud-based clipboard to copy and paste images and text from one PC to another. Select the Start button, then select Settings > System > Clipboard , and then use the toggles to turn on both Clipboard history and Sync across devices.

Magnifier enlarges part or all of your screen, helping make words and images easier to see. To start Magnifier quickly, press the Windows logo key + Plus sign (+). To turn it off, press the Windows logo key + Esc. Screen sketch is now called Snip & Sketch. Open Snip & Sketch to take a snip of what’s on your screen or to mark up and share a previous image. To quickly take a snip, press the Windows logo key + Shift + S. You'll see your screen darken and your cursor displayed as a cross. Choose a point at the edge of the area you want to copy and left-click the cursor. Move your cursor to highlight the area you want to capture. The area you capture will appear on your screen. The image you snipped is saved to your clipboard, ready for pasting into an email or document. If you want to edit the image, select the notification that appears after you’ve made your snip. Snip & Sketch offers options to save, copy, or share and includes a pen, highlighter, and an eraser, all with variable line widths.

Make your apps stand out by switching to Dark mode. Select the Start button, then select Settings > Personalization > Colors , and then under Choose your default app mode, select Dark.
