My future career
A child usually dreams of becoming a doctor, teacher, firefighter or even an astronaut in the future. These professions are very important, so it is great if the child's dream comes true and he becomes an expert in a certain field, for example, medicine.
I think everyone should work. It can be easy or hard work, well paid or poorly paid. But most importantly, the work should be interesting. Of course, salary plays an important role these days, but if you are not satisfied with your job, salary will not matter much to you anymore. In this case, you need to find something else, something that makes you smile. This job can be a small addition to your main occupation.
I'd say it's because a lot may change in our life in a moment. It's rather difficult sometimes to choose a career and to speak about the future profession. There are lucky people who chose their profession in childhood and since that time have been doing everything possible to acquire proficiency. But they are few.
If the end goal is not important, the path is not important - this idea that came from the pen of the English mathematician and writer Lewis Carroll in "Alice in Wonderland" is the basis of this essay.
We should determine our abilities and inclinations.If we are not indifferent to our future, while thinking about the future career we are to pay attention to a number of important things. Then we should analyse job prospects. We must know whether the profession we have chosen will guarantee good living conditions and give promotion. We must be sure we'll avoid unemployment or at least will be able to apply our knowledge and skills in other fields of human activity. In short, we are to decide what we are going to do in our life and-feel satisfied, but not bored or disappointed.
When I was in my fifth year, I wanted to become a doctor and treat people and save their lives. I admired the courage and generosity of the surgeons. But then I saw that I couldn't see blood, I couldn't handle surgical instruments. And I gave up on that idea.
That's when I realized that I love math. I was always good at math at school. I realized that I wanted to be good at math and become a good math major. And I started studying mathematics.
So I do my best to master the language because I have made up my mind to apply to the Linguistic University and become either a teacher or an interpreter. I haven't chosen it yet. Both professions are interesting and necessary in our society. Perhaps, I'll keep our family tradition and become a teacher of English. But I'll think about it tomorrow if I enter the University.
