Introduction
The relevance of this work is related to the need to study one of the important elements of modern culture, that is, dramaturgy, which is of greatest interest to us, because dramaturgy reflects the development trends of modern society and reveals the most . acute problems in the formation of relationships between people.
It is a survey of the full breadth and diversity of the problems of British drama in the late 19th and 20th centuries.
We have the following tasks: to study the problems and moral principles of the English dramaturgy of the late 19th and 20th centuries, to identify innovative features, to take into account the diversity of the thematic direction.
Clear goals and specific tasks predetermined the following structure of this work. Each chapter, in turn, examines the features of the creative work of Bernard Shaw's brightest playwrights.
The second most popular English playwright (after W. Shakespeare) is known throughout the world. His plays are still staged on the most famous theatrical stages, revealing to the audience the unrelenting severity of topical problems in society. At one time, Bernard Shaw brought out the English drama of the late 19th century. out of the impasse created by "commercial theatres," entertaining and sentimental plays. He opened before the public a wide path of social and problematic dramaturgy. B. Shaw tried (and he succeeded!) to bring the new drama closer to contemporary problems of social and intellectual life, choosing for himself, in his words, "the role of a jester who entertains only at first glance, but in reality - says what everyone is silent or does not see and does not want to see. The English playwright became the spokesman of his era, having managed to reproduce not only the spirit, but also the logic of its intellectual life, its moral and ideological searches. His plays pushed the bourgeois intelligentsia to insight, which ceased to idealize their world and its spiritual values and lost the optimism with which they once spoke in the 19th century. A century later, society still needs its accuser, who has chosen satire, accusatory laughter, bitter truth as his main weapon.
The purpose of this work is to analyze the creative method of B. Shaw, who skillfully used the power of paradoxes in his works. The solution of such problems as the analysis of the writer's biography, as prerequisites for the formation of a creative method, the definition of the concept of paradox, the identification of its typology based on creativity, as well as a detailed acquaintance with the paradoxes of B. Shaw will help to understand the depth of creativity and paradoxical thinking of the great English playwright.
The relevance of the study of this work lies in the unfading topicality of the topics considered by the writer. B. Shaw's paradoxes perfectly reflect the nature of things, ridicule ridiculous foundations, point to the imperfection of society and accurately notice the essence of eternal problems between a man and a woman, between virtues and vices, disputes about beauty and art, and much more.
The object of study of this work is the work of B. Shaw.
The purpose of the course work is to analyze the features of B. Shaw's creative method. The research method used in the work is theoretical (analysis of the writer's literature; materials related to the research of 20th century fiction);
Achieving this goal predetermines solving the following tasks:
1) analysis of the writer's biography as a prerequisite for the formation of a unique creative style
2) definition of the concept of "paradox";
3) reveal the typology of paradox based on the author's work;
4) analysis of B. Shaw's paradoxes;
The relevance of studying this work lies in the unchanging relevance of the topics considered by the writer. B. The paradoxes of the show perfectly reflect the nature of things, ridicule the ridiculous foundations, point to the imperfection of society, and the debates between man and woman, between virtue and vice, beauty and art, and many other eternal problems. clearly notices the essence. .
The novelty of the studied topic lies in the attempt to determine the necessary conditions for the formation of B. Shaw's unique style, to analyze the paradoxes in his works, and to compare their tasks.
The research problem is to reveal the elements of the content of the works through paradox.
