NATIONAL UNIVERSITY Activity Portfolio and reflection Group: 303-21 Student: Maxmudova Adolat Listening activity (Direct method)Topic: Climate change effect on mind Task time: 5 min Objectives: This activity`s aim is to improve listening skill and student`s vocabulary through authentic listening material. For this “Direct method” will enhance my learners to listen native speakers` conversation and give a chance to learn new vocabulary units such as chunks, idioms and terms and how to pronounce as well. Besides, they will be motivated to communicate with groupmates in a confidence way on the target topic. Instruction for teacher: Inform about the topic and motivate them to acquire it [2 min] Ask some question on the target topic in order to know students background knowledge and make a discussion [3 min] Provide new vocabulary on the board and guide student to search from vocabulary tools and match the definitions. [3 min] Play the track about the topic and give handouts for doing with explanations [3 min] Divide students into groups in order to prepare answers for the questions and presentation. [3 min] Instruction for students Make a discussion about the topic by using their prior knowledge Use the gadget to use vocabulary corpus tools in order to match the definition Listen attentively the track to find lexical units and write them as a note discuss about the effects of climate change and make presentation with a paragraph. Pre- activity Brainstorming Ask the following question in order to engage student to the topic and know student`s background knowledge.
