What is learning strategy?

  • A learning strategy is an individual's way of organizing and using a particular set of skills in order to learn content or accomplish other tasks more effectively and efficiently in school as well as in non-academic settings
  • Memory strategies refer to any of a broad set of techniques that are designed to help one remember. Such strategies range from everyday, external aids (e.g., using a planner) to internal memory strategies (e.g., mnemonic devices) that facilitate storage and retrieval from long-term memory.

Direct strategies

  • The emotion regulation strategy of cognitive change refers to how interpretations or evaluations of emotional events are reframed to change emotional responses

Indirect strategies

  • Metacognitive strategies empower students to think about their own thinking. Awareness of the learning process enhances control over their own learning. It also enhances personal capacity for self-regulation and managing one's own motivation for learning.
  • Affective strategies are learning strategies concerned with managing emotions, both negative and positive. The relationship between affective strategies and learning is not clear, but a positive affective environment helps learning in general.
  • A social media strategy is an outline of the content that your business will post, the responsibilities of your social media team, and the social media channels you will use to promote your business. A social media strategy includes social media goals that complement your business' overall digital marketing strategy
