Today, the interest in learning world languages among the youth of Uzbekistan is growing every day. In particular, English and the importance of interest in learning this language are also growing rapidly. In this article, the role and importance of independent education in the learning of English is discussed on the relevance and the shortcomings of this education at the same time.
Key words: theory of education, independent education, learning foreign languages, independent education methods, autodidacticism

Learning foreign languages is gaining importance in the lifestyle, education and activities of the representatives of our society. For this reason, interest in learning English is increasing day by day. Every language learner tries to master the language he is learning. Every student who is determined to learn a language strives to be active in foreign language classes, studies in language centers, and spends time and money to deal with tutors. In addition to these traditional teaching methods, the form of independent education, which causes a person to work on himself regularly, also serves as an effective method for language learners.

The process of language learning is considered a continuous process, and the student learning foreign languages, in particular English, improves his worldview, mental thinking, knowledge and understanding, and independently reads information that he could not understand in other forms of education. Learning will increase the student's language learning ability.
Independent education is a form of education in which the responsibility of learning depends on the learner himself, without personal control of students in the second place outside the classroom. Independent education can be carried out at any time, in any place, in any conditions according to the student's wishes. Independent education contributes to the development of the student as a person by helping the student to increase his confidence in self-research and learning.
A student who aims to learn foreign languages should try to learn a language based on his abilities and interests. There are several "effective methods" of independent education, such as watching movies, listening to music, listening to radio broadcasts, and reading various additional literature. However, some students spend too much time on these forms of training and do not achieve the expected results.
