Task 1. Write answers to the following questions.

  1. What is drilling? What are its types? What language skills or subskills are practiced with drills? Provide examples for each type. (100-150 words). Drilling in teching is one of the old methodologies in language teaching.In today’s modern methods also cover abovementioned skill on teaching

In the following paragraphs I am going to discuss about Drilling on teaching methodology and its types.
In XIX and initial XX centuries It was a key feature of audio lingual approaches to language teaching which placed emphasis on repeating structural patterns through oral practice.At its simplest, drilling means listening to a model, provided by the teacher, or a tape or another student, and repeating what is heard. This is a repetition drill, a technique that is still used by many teachers when introducing new language items to their students. The teacher says (models) the word or phrase and the students repeat it.Other types of drill include substitution drills, or question and answer drills. Substitution drills can be used to practise different structures or vocabulary items (i.e. one or more words change during the drill).

  1. What is an authentic activity? Why is it important? How can teachers make classroom activities authentic? (100-150 words). The teacher demanded to be more skillful if there are little resources but more students.In this case the first and common way is doing listening activities for the students so that they can understand and introduce with the word in the discussion.Moreover, listening and repeating and writing down what they are listened are the best way to interact all skills in one time.

Further more there are some other activities that can be doing with papers with activities in it.
Monotonous chanting of decontextualised language is not useful to anyone. This means that work on the meaning of the language must come before drilling. Drilling can be comfortably and effectively incorporated into many types of lessons - whether you use a PPP model or a task-based approach, for example.
