An absolutely rigid body whose deformation can be neglected under the conditions of the given problem (absolutely rigid bodies do not exist in nature).
A material point is a body whose dimensions can be neglected under the conditions of the given problem.
The frame of reference is the set of the coordinate system and the clock associated with the body in relation to which the motion is studied.
The number of degrees of freedom is the number of independent coordinates that completely determine the position of a point in space.
A mechanical movement is a change in the position of a given body (or parts thereof) relative to other bodies.
Kinematics is the section of mechanics in which the mechanical movements of bodies in time are studied and any effects on these bodies of other bodies or fields are not considered.
The reference body is the body in relation to which the given mechanical motion is considered.
Absolutely solid body - a body, the shape and dimensions of which, in the presence of all kinds of external influences, can be considered unchanged.
The trajectory is the line along which the point moves.
Flat motion is a motion that all points of a trajectory lie in one plane.
The path (S or ∆S) is a scalar quantity equal to the length of the path section traversed by the moving point in a given time interval. The graph of the dependence S = S (t) is called the path graph.
The average speed over a period of time is a physical quantity equal to the ratio of the displacement vector of the point to the duration of the time interval
The speed (instantaneous speed, speed at a given moment of time) is a physical quantity equal to the limit to which the average velocity tends with an infinite decrease in the time interval.
The motion of a material point is called uniform if the modulus of its instantaneous velocity does not change with time (v = const). If the instantaneous velocity modulus of a point changes over time, the motion is called non-uniform (or variable).
