INTRODUCTION (abstract of the DSc thesis) 
The aim of the research work is to define the attitude of the proverb to in 
line phenomena, as well as determining its linguistic position on this basis, to 
identify intralinguistic and extralinguistic factors and pragmatic features of the 
formation of the proverb. 
The object of research work is Uzbek national proverbs. 
The scientific novelty of the research work is the following: 
units of sayings and idioms in Uzbek, proverbs, phrases, proverb, and saying 
relationship were proven in the examples by identifyingtheir similar contrasting 
features; 
reflecting 
of 
the 
multilateral 
phenomena 
in 
alanguage,intermediate 
phenomena in the language, as well as typical, stable categories in the language, 
were explained by the existence of units in the Uzbek linguistics called paremias in 
the type of proverbs orsayings; 
comparing common and distinctive features of the proverb with idioms, 
phrases, and sayings, on this basis, its role in the linguistic / speech differences 
were defined; 
intralinguistic basis of the formation of Uzbek national proverbs; sayings, 
narration, anecdote, myth, puzzle; were proved to be based on reverence, folk 
customs, folk games, and hadiths; 
extralinguistic factors of the formation of Uzbek national proverbs were 
explained by the names of animals, occupations, religions, household concepts, 
names of plants, time, natural phenomena, proverbs on the realities of the life of 
the Uzbek people; 
socially conditioned meanings, namely the pragmatic features of active 
animal names in Uzbek folk proverbs, have been determined by examples.
