Abstract: This article analyzes the formation of Portuguese adaptations in the Malay 
language and the influence of the Portuguese language on the Malay language, as well as 
the phonetic and semantic analysis of Malay words.

In 1511 Alfonso D'Albuquerque to the rich port city of Malacca in Malaysia after the 
invasion, a new period of European march to Asia began. With the capture of Malacca, the

Portuguese from monopolizing the rich spice trade, they were able to capture much of the 
clove and Banda nutmeg trade in the Moluccas and Ambon. shared They also secured the 
sandalwood trade of Solor and Timor. They achieved this by making treaties with the local 
rulers of eastern Indonesia while strictly following a policy of evasion. 
The Portuguese were the first Europeans to establish a colony in Southeast Asia in 
the 16th century, and began to learn their language and culture in order to communicate 
with the common people. Although this relationship was true, the relationship between the 
Portuguese and the Asians was limited to the spheres of trade, and communication with 
merchants in Southeast Asia required the Portuguese to learn the language. It should be
