The lessons of centuries of Uzbek translation that needs to be acquired are 
that our great poets, writers, playwrights and translators deeply felt that this “secondary”, 
“fruitful” creative work is of primary importance at every stage of the development of Uzbek 
literature. Oybek spent twelve years in translating and bringing to perfection “Yevgeniy 
Onegin”, and it is twice more than A.S.Pushkin spent for writing his own poetic novel. 
Yo’ldosh Shamsharov knew by heart I.S.Turgenov’s short stories “Lisa” and “Spring Floods” 
that he translated and understood the novel “Arafa” better than any Turgenov literary 
scholar, while Usmon Nosir fully knew M.Y.Lermontov’s poem “Demon” which he translated 
into Uzbek. 
The best translations of Uzbek literature and the translators who presented them 
to the world have been created in this way.
An intelligent translator must first be able to feel the colors, inner feelings, 
sufferings and boundless joy of a work. He must then translate it into another language while 
preserving the same inner experiences of the work. Every young person who wants to 
become a perfect translator should take this into account and, of course, use our Uzbek 
language skillfully while translating the work. Only then it will be expedient to present the 
real work of the translator to our young readers.
