Any trade barriers could impact the price the technology and even the supplier. Besides, trade tensions and concerns about intellectual property and national security also could exacerbated the usage of technology, as happened in the case of Huawei. Finally, many countries are supporting tech programmes such as incubators and non-profit organisation to help entrepreneur and new ventures in first stages. Governments are taking action in the following: • Funding: E.g. The government in UK offers several funding routes for startups. They can apply for one of the range of government grants run by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy or try the Start Up Loans scheme, which offers loans of up to £25,000 at a fixed interest rate of six percent per annum for new business idea. • Support: Providing affordable working space, mentors, events, workshops, training and funding tips. XXX LTD 12 • Visas: The tech sector has regularly warned that access to the international workers they need to bridge the digital skills gap is too restricted. These concerns have been amplified by the vote to leave the EU, as the resulting uncertainty about the UK's future and the wave of anti-immigrant rhetoric risked damaging the country's ability to attract top talent to its shores. • Connectivity: Giving digital connectivity, super-fast fibre broadband and building the right infrastructure to enhance connectivity in the future. Economic Low interest rates, above in US, has triggered an expansion of investment doing that many tech companies will speed up their programmes for growth. This reduces financial expenditure and increases significantly the valuation of companies and projects. Besides, one of the main deployments of technology is the reduction of costs, that is why many sectors, in mature stage, will tend to open programmes for digital transformation to improve processes and systems. For example, in automotive sector, technology can enhance the processes in the following points: • An improvement of the quality of product throughout all stages of the manufacturing process, and not just the end product . • An improvement to the efficiency of the plant in terms of increased productivity and a reduction in material wastage . • An improvement to the speed and value of communication between the production and engineering teams, and the front-of- house sales teams. XXX LTD 13 Finally, as long as manufacturing of many components are made in other countries such as Vietnam, the fluctuation of the currency and the macroeconomic stability of the area could be an influential factor in their cost. Social For the first time in history, a majority of the global population, 50.8%, will be connected in 2019. This equates to 4 billion internet users. The highest levels of connectivity are found in the developed world, including North America and Western Europe. While communication still dominates internet-driven activities, connected consumers globally are beginning to use these devices for more commerce-related activities, according to E uromonitor International’s annual consumer surveys. Digital connectivity, which serves as the backbone to so many of the recent advances in commerce, is expected to further influence the way consumers conduct commerce in the years ahead. (Pew Research, 2019) Also, more than nine-in-ten Millennials (93% of those who turn ages 23 to 38 this year) own smartphones, compared with 90% of Gen Xers (those ages 39 to 54 this year), 68% of Baby Boomers (ages 55 to 73) and 40% of the Silent Generation (74 to 91), according to a new analysis of a Pew Research Centre survey of adults conducted in early 2019. (Pew Research, 2019) In many ways, 2018 is the year that data privacy finally entered the popular mainstream. A series of high-profile data breaches at the world’s top companies was not even the top story of the year. Instead, the event of the year was arguably the arrival of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in Washington, D.C. for two days of grilling by top Congressional lawmakers about data privacy – XXX LTD 14 an event that was televised live and immediately started a very public discussion about what data privacy should look like in the digital era. This has made that many companies have invested in new programmes to enhance cybersecurity and avoid any data breach within their organisations. Download 0.74 Mb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
