English schoolchildren go to school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They have four lessons in the morning and two in the afternoon. They have a long lunch break at school. School
ends* at a quarter past three. English schoolchildren usually do their homework in the evening.

You may play the cassette twice if you think your PP have difficulty in understanding the text. Before you play the cassette tell your PP that they should try to understand what subject the girl doesn’t like. Tell them
not to worry if they don’t understand every word.

Fred has got a sister Betsy. She is a pupil in the fifth class. Betsy likes literature and history. She likes maths, too. She says PI is boring. Fred likes football. Fred likes PI. But he isn’t a schoolboy, he’s only four.

If your PP do the activity quickly and there is time you may ask them questions on the text. e.g. Who likes PI? How old is Fred? Ask your PP to look at Activity 3 (Dice Game) in Lesson 6. They should make
the counters and bring them to class next time. They can use the paper patterns shown in the book or they can bring buttons.
