There were a lot of maps, safety posters, etc.



Strengths observed:

The strengths of the teacher were clearly his knowledge of the content and his overall mastery of the information he was presenting. Every piece of advice or maneuver had a specific, easy-to-remember trick or riddle to remember it and he relayed the information so confidently. This helped the kids engage with the material and really rendered the class successful for both the teacher and the students.


Suggestions for improvement:

There were no real suggestions for improvement, but I think the instructor could have incorporated more multimedia enhancements into his teaching.


Overall impression of teaching effectiveness:


I learned a lot from the observation and will certainly use Mr. Matheson as a resource when developing my own lessons for information and nuanced tricks for teaching. He seemed like a seasoned professional who was not only great at his job, but was well-liked by the students as well.
