After the students finish writing the words, add your own options to complete the list. To help kids understand unaware furniture pieces, show an illustration for every word.    Match verb (idioms) with appropriate furniture. In the first table there are 10 verbs with matching furniture. Students will have 5 minutes to match the most appropriate words to verbs. In harder version of this task students will be asked to find the meanings of the given idioms. They may use dictionary if they find it hard to finish this task. Task hast to be done in 10 minutes. Armchair critic	To bring something to the table means to contribute something to a group effort.
Be part of the furniture	To dance.
Bring the curtain down	being discussed or considered.
Bring to the table	To reprimand; to censure severely or angrily.
Call on the carpet	To lie like a rug means to tell lies shamelessly.
Cut a rug	ready-made for purchase; in a form that is ready to be used.
Lie like a rug	to hide or ignore something.
Off the shelf	if someone or something is part of the furniture, they have been somewhere so long as to seem an integral part of the place.
On the table	To bring the curtain down to something means to bring something to an end.
Sweep something under the carpet	An armchair critic is a person who knows or pretends to know a lot about something in theory rather than practice.

3. 
   A sk students to write essay describing the following picture. Students should carefully examine the reproduction, determine what is in the foreground, clarify small details, select words from the Task 1 template if needed. This exercise has to be finished in 10 minutes. [V] [W] [F]
   

To differentiate the writing test, teacher can request students to write essay on given topic with no further hints or pictures. Students will be using their imagination and their own lexicon.
