Activity 5: Microteaching
Divide Mentees into groups of 4.
Each group chooses one interactive activity to share.
Mentees can share an activity they like to use in their lessons, or you can help them think of an idea.
Each group writes the instructions for the activity.
Groups micro-teach the activity. Peers give feedback using the Observation Rubric.
If you have a lot of Mentees, you can divide the class in half so that 2 groups can micro-teach at the same time.

Ask the follow-up questions:
What kind of interaction was in the activity? (whole class, group, pair)
Was there more student talk time or teacher talk time?
Why was this activity engaging?
What was one thing you thought was “well done” (no changes necessary)? Why?
What was one thing that “needs a little work”? Why?
What was one thing that “needs a lot of work”? Why?
