Khandelwal & Nair (2022) investigated the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) of university teachers and organizational effectiveness of Indian Universities. Their findings established a positive and significant relationship between OCB and organizational effectiveness, suggesting that OCB can be considered an innovative element of appraisal and compensation systems in HEIs. In light of the above studies, it is evident that innovative management in HEIs is multifaceted, encompassing aspects like reengineering, quality management practices, course organization, and organizational citizenship behavior. These researches collectively emphasize the need for HEIs to adopt and integrate innovative practices to enhance their effectiveness and relevance in the contemporary educational landscape.
