In all the sections (Introduction, Methods
and Materials,
Discussion and Conclusions), except, probably, the Results
section. There is little need to refer to other researchers when
describing your own results.
Reading
2 Before learners start this activity, remind them that they
have already read the abstract of this article. Ask them to
skim Text 1 quickly and identify the topic (grazing).
It is important to develop learners’
ability to understand
the meaning of words without using a dictionary. There
are different strategies that can be used: guessing from the
context with
the help of other words around; noting the
similarity of a word with one in L1; the similarity of a word
with
another word in English; thinking about what part of
speech a word is.
