They were very grateful to me because then our classroom 
became so much more about learning skills – lifelong learning 
skills. They were just … They were learning how to learn, they 
were learning about one another, they were learning about team 
work, they were learning about developing a business. They were 
just learning about life. And how to connect with others because 
(I’m referring to high school kids from the age of say 15 or 16 to 
18) you’re learning about yourself, and your place in the world. 
They were learning about careers, and all kinds of options.

So, um … educational approach … I can talk about a 
philosophical approach, but not really an educational one. 
Because I think that it’s a very humanistic approach, a very 
caring approach. And these things are ongoing, I would say. I 
was using, er, I was experimenting and I found the methods 
as a result.

What I want to say is, I wasn’t learning from 
the literature that was available, I was doing what I felt was 
intuitively right.
