The focus of this module is on developing the language and skills necessary for carrying out
administrative tasks as
conducting a meeting, submitting reports in the sphere of tourism.
Aims
The aim of the module is to develop students’ language skills to interact with co-workers,
administration in job-related situations
Objectives
By the end of the module students will be able to:

take part in professional conversations (negotiations, meetings)
•
give professional talks/ presentations with hand-outs, Power Points, etc.
•
take part in
professional discussions

write hand-outs/Power points (for
presentations, meetings.)
•

proposals, reports and
recommendations
•
listen to professional talks, presentations
•
listen and follow hand-outs, Power Points (e.g. meetings)
•
listen to talks/lectures and take notes (e.g. at meetings, training sessions)
•
read proposals, recommendations, tenders, applications
•
read
professional notices, internal messages
•
read curriculum vitae/resumes, job descriptions, profiles
Text types
It is the teacher’s responsibility to find texts that relate to the above-mentioned language skills.
Teachers can usefully analyse those text types according to functions and exponents
Examples of text types:
Internal messages, reports, presentations, meeting agenda, proposals, cover letters, CVs,
memos.
