The aim of the lesson

To give information about:
Environmental issues
Improving pupils’ speaking skills
How to make a dialogue at the post office

Objectives:

1. Students will be able to define the term Environmental issues and identify different types of Environmental issues.


2. Students will understand the cultural and historical significance of Environmental issues.



Teaching methods

Discussion ,warm-up , integrated activities

Materials

Chart paper
- Markers
- Pictures of different celebrations (e.g., Thanksgiving, Diwali, Christmas, birthdays)
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors

Procedure:

Introduction (10 minutes):
1. Begin by asking students what they know about Environmental issues. Write down their responses on chart paper.
2. Define Environmental issues in our life.
3. Show pictures of different Environmental issues and ask students to identify them.

Body (30 minutes):
1. Discuss environmental issues, such as water pollution, air pollution, climates changes, etc.
2. Ask students to work in pairs or small groups to research a particular environmental issues that is important to their government or community.
3. Have each group present their findings from their country, environmental issues
4. Discuss how environmental issues can make mass our nature.

Closure (20 minutes):


1. Ask students to use their critical thinking skills and creativity to protect our nature that they would like to live with their family or friends.
2. Provide students with construction paper, glue, scissors, and markers to create an invitation to defend their nature
3. Have each student present their invitation and explain why they chose certain invitation (latter box) or activities.
Vocabulary (20 minutes)
- Distribute handouts with vocabulary words and definitions.
- Go through each word and ask students to repeat after you.
- Use examples and pictures to help students understand the meaning of each word.
- Have students work in pairs or small groups to create sentences using the new vocabulary.

3. Group Activity (30 minutes)


- Divide students into groups of four or five.
- Assign each group a specific environmental issue (e.g., climate change, pollution, or the Aral Sea crisis).
- Provide each group with poster paper, markers, and glue.
- Ask them to create a poster that explains the issue and its impact on the environment.
- Encourage them to use the new vocabulary they learned in their posters.

4. Discussion (15 minutes)


- After the groups have completed their posters, have them present their work to the class.
- Ask each group to explain their issue, its impact, and what can be done to address it.
- Encourage class discussion on what individuals can do to reduce their impact on the environment.

5. Conclusion (5 minutes)


- Summarize the key points of the lesson.
- Emphasize the importance of sustainable habits and how individuals can make a difference in protecting the environment.

Assessment:


- Observe students during the group activity and class discussion to assess their understanding of the new vocabulary and their ability to use it in context.
- Review their sentences and posters to evaluate their comprehension of the environmental issues.
- Provide feedback on their participation and collaboration in the group activity.
Extension:
