It helps us in communicating with others especially to those people from the other country. Learning English may also give us better insight into our native language and other languages we know. It is a language systematically used to make communication possible between people not sharing mother tongue. English is a use of English language as a common means of communication for speakers of different first languages.1 Non-finite verbs are used to perform the functions of other forms of words like adjectives, nouns or adverbs. There are three types of non-finite verbs: infinitives, gerunds and participles. Infinitives can be regarded as the most basic or rudimentary form of the given verb. It may be a noun, an adverb or an adjective. A non-finite verb is most often not the main verb in the sentence. It does not show the tense or number of the verb. Non-finite verbs are multifunctional. They can take the gerund form of the verb and function as an infinitive by taking a 'to' along with the base form of the verb. There are four non-finite forms of the verb in English: the infinitive to write, the gerundwriting, participle I writing, participle II written. These forms possess the double nature, that is, some verbal and some non-verbal features. In English grammar, a finite verb is a form of a verb that (a) shows agreement with a subject and (b) is marked for tense. Nonfinite verbs are not marked for tense and do not show agreement with a subject. If there is just one verb in a sentence, that verb is finite. A non-finite verb is a verb form that does not show tense. In other words, you cannot tell if a sentence is in the past tense, present tense, or future tense by looking at a non-finite verb. Therefore, a non-finite verb is never the main verb in a sentence. A non-finite clause is a type of subordinate clause that is based around on a to-infinitive or a participle. While this may sound complicated, it simply means that the clause contains a verb that doesn't show tense or time. This means that the clause doesn't state at what time something happened, making it non-finite. We often use a non-finite clause when the subject is the same as the subject in the main clause: I had something to eat before leaving. (I had something to eat before I left.) After having spent six hours at the hospital, they eventually came home. The practical value of the course paper is about how to learn it in lessons and giving thorough data about specific features of the problems of non finite and its roles. The sources of the course paper are scientific books and journals, which consist of related articles. Moreover, adequate information comes from several internet resources. The structure of the course paper consists of introduction, main body, involving two and three sub parts, the conclusion, bibliography.
