What is the one thing that you feel women business owners need on
their journey?
I think that depends on what your agenda is. If you are doing a business for
profit and revenue only then I don’t know what to tell you. My business
was built upon an undeniable passion. It took me three years building my
businesses before we made any profit. That means everyday I woke up and
worked my ass off for free! Used all my modeling money to fund my
businesses and I did that because I am so passionate about my message and
what I do. My passion gets me through hard days, long days, stressful days,
and times when I want to quit. If you are a business owner or wanting to
become one, get ready for the days that you say, “Screw this” [laughs]. It is
hard. I would have quit many times if I didn’t have that fire in my soul and
love for what I do. That is something I can’t imagine living without let
alone running my business without.
What does your typical day look like?
Every single day is different! My husband and I literally do everything from
hair and makeup, photo shoots, editing, graphics, video production, video
editing, public speaking, finances, payroll, managing employees, etc. It is
pretty non-stop but that is what we love about it. We live part time in Palm
Springs and work part of the week in Los Angeles at our office if we need
to. So on an average day we get up, and I post on Instagram for our
company’s pages. We drive to Starbucks and get the usual. We come home
and do emails followed by whatever content we need to work on for the
day, like video editing, photo editing, website, graphics, etc. We take breaks
to jump in the pool and lay in the sun. Then, I make us a healthy lunch and
then we get back at it. Our day can go really late sometimes. We don’t work
normal business hours and most creative people don’t. But we love that our
schedule is never the same and that there is always something new to work
on.
